Conferences
Students Cannot End BigBlueButton Sessions
- System: Canvas
- Problem: In Conferences (BigBlueButton), conferences cannot be ended by Students.
- Workaround: Students, please contact the UF Computing Help Desk by phone at 352-392-4357 or by e-mail at helpdesk@ufl.edu and request that the conference be ended.
- Status: Under investigation by Canvas engineers.

Discussions
- System: Canvas
- Problem: By default, students can edit and delete their own Discussion posts. Instructors have the ability to turn off this ability to going to 'Settings' and unchecking the boxes beside these features. BUT, this does not affect Discussions that are given to groups. Students have full authority within their groups and it is not possible to take away their ability to edit and delete their own posts.
- Workaround: None
- Status: Canvas recognizes this as an issue and is looking for a way to resolve.

Grades
Upload Scores Hangs In Large Courses
- System: Canvas
- Problem: In Grades, when utilizing 'Upload Scores' within large courses, after confirming your changes with 'Save Changes', the browser spins and then the page goes blank. This appears to be the case in all popular browsers.
- Workaround: Manually remove "gradebook_upload" from the URL to enter back into the course. Note: Uploaded grades will continue to populate in a matter of minutes but you must refresh the page to see this occurring.
- Status: Under investigation.

Scroll Bars
- System: Canvas
- Problem: Scrollbars are not functional in a few views, in the "to" list in Mail for one example.
- Workaround: The only way to scroll is to use the scroll wheel on the mouse
- Status: Reported to Canvas

Settings
Notifications
Notifications Not Being Sent to E-mail
- System: Canvas
- Problem: Users Not Receiving Timely Notifications After Notifications Settings Modification
- Status: We have recently received information that it may take as much as one week (even days) for a change in Notifications Frequency to take place. Thus, if today you were to change your Notifications Frequency from Weekly to ASAP, the change would not take effect until sometime early next week. We are investigating this issue and will provide additional detail as we get more information.

Groups
Cannot drag students into groups to add them
- System: Canvas
- Problem: If there are lots of groups in a Group Set, the students can't be added to the ones lower down the list by the drag-and-drop method. Can only drag so far down the list and then it's like you "hit a block" and can't drag any further down.
- 'Workaround: Beside the student's name, click the + sign. The list of groups will appear. Click the group to which you want to add the student.
- Status: Instructure is aware of the problem and is working on a fix.

Quizzes
Reports That Quiz Answers Modified
- System: Canvas
- Problem: We've received some reports that quiz answers differ from those answers that were purportedly submitted. Please report any suspected cases to learning-support@ufl.edu with the course number, quiz/assignment, date/time, student, detailed description of the problem, and any available screenshots for further investigation with Instructure.
- Status: Currently under investigation.

Manipulation of Quiz Answer Radio Button Upon Review
- System: Canvas
- Problem: When a user is reviewing their answers, especially in the case of incorrect answers, the radio button choice appears to be fixed (selected) and a red "You Answered" along with a red outline around the answer appears. The correct answer is denoted by the colorless and/or grey "Correct Answer". If a user clicks on the text of another answer, the radio button is changed. A user could then take a screenshot as purported evidence that the system has incorrectly marked their answer. This does not impact the actual recorded answer and the manipulation will revert upon refreshing of the page.
- Workaround: If you need assistance in identifying suspected cases please contact us at (352)392-4357 option 3 or by e-mail at learning-support@ufl.edu.
- Status: Under investigation by Canvas engineers.

Video Questions Play Inconsistently
- System: Canvas
- Problem: We've had reports within specific quizzes where certain videos play and certain videos do not play; when they do not play, you can generally see the player, but it shows zero seconds of recorded data. This issue happens across Chrome, Firefox, IE(according to admin), Safari web browsers.
- Workaround: Suggested to keep trying to refresh, restart browser, use incognito mode, try different browsers until you finally are able to access each one.

Roles
Designer Role is Unable to View Unpublished Content
- System: Canvas
- Problem: We've verified that folks in the Designer role are currently unable to view Unpublished course content. This is in direct relation to Canvas' work on permissions.
- Workaround: We suggest these folks use the Facilitator role. Canvas has suggested "For now, the only workaround is for designers or whoever may be setting up the course to immediately publish any assignments they are working on, as this will make them available for further updates."
- Status: Under investigation by Canvas engineers.
