Overview

Learning Modules is a tool that provides course materials in a logical, sequential, order, guiding students through the content and assessments in the order specified by the instructor. Instructors can insert formatted text, files, weblinks, Discussion Topics, Assignments, Tests & Quizzes, and soon, Assessments. Content can be structured in such a way as to require students to complete content before they are allowed to proceed to the next content. It is also possible for instructors to set up a place for students to add content to the Learning Module.

NOTE: Any files and/or weblinks that you use in Learning Modules are stored in your course Resources. Best practice would be to organize the files and weblinks in Resources prior to building your Learning Modules. You may create folders in a structure that will allow you to easily locate the material in Resources that is being referenced by the Learning Modules tool. If you need to update a file, go to the Resources and "replace" the file that is there so that the link to the Learning Modules doesn't have to be relinked. If you do not organize your files and weblinks prior to building the Learning Modules, when you add files or weblinks in the Learning Module, a folder will be created for you in Resources called "Learning Modules" and the content will be placed there. You may hide the Resources tool if you do not want students to view the files there, BUT you cannot hide individual files or folders in Resources. Hiding the file or folder will keep students from being able to view the content in the Learning Module. If you delete any content from Resources, it will also remove it from the Learning Modules.

There are three main ways to present the content:
