View As Student

	For viewing recent announcements, discussion, and chat items.

Announcements

Use the View Site As: and select Student from the dropdown. (Located in the top right of your browser window)

• This is not an exact Student View. Announcements that are grayed out are NOT displayed to a student.

Assessments

	For authoring, publishing, delivering and grading assessments.

Assignments

	For posting, submitting and grading assignment(s) online

Blogs

	Blog entries for site participants.

Calendar

	For posting and viewing deadlines, events, etc.

Chat Room

	For real-time conversations in written form

Discussions

	Display discussions and topics of a particular site

Drop Box

	For private file sharing between instructor and student

Feedback

	For uploading .csv formatted file to display feedback (e.g., comments, grades) to site participants

Gradebook

An instructor, facilitator, or TA has the ability to view exactly what each student would see in the Gradebook tool.

1. Navigate to the Gradebook tool
2. Click "All Grades" link at the top of the tool
3. Click the name of a student
4. Click the link in the top right of the tool labeled "Student's Name View of Grades"
5. You should now see exactly what your student will see in the Gradebook tool

Gradebook 2

An instructor, facilitator, or TA has the ability to view exactly what each student would see in the Gradebook 2 tool.

1. Click the name of a student on the right portion of the tool
2. Click the button labeled "View As Student" on the bottom right of the tool
3. You should now see exactly what your student will see in the Gradebook 2 tool

Lessons

	For authoring, publishing, and organizing learning sequences.

Mail

	Display messages to/from users of a particular site

Podcasts

	For managing individual podcast and podcast feed information

Polls

	For anonymous polls or voting

Resources

	For posting documents, URLs to other websites, etc.

Roster

	For viewing the site participants list

RSS Feeds

	For viewing content from online sources

Section Info

	For managing sections within a site

Sign-up

	For enabling online registration for meetings and other events.

	For showing worksite information and site participants

Site Stats

Use the View Site As: and select Student from the dropdown. (Located in the top right of your browser window)

• This tool is hidden from students. While in Student View you will notice the tool is not present in the tool list.

	For posting a summary outline and/or requirements for a site

Tests & Quizzes

	For creating and taking online tests and quizzes

TurningTechnologies

	Integration with the TurningTechnologies suite of student response systems

	For collaborative editing of pages and content
