Branding Sakai

Sakai at UF is branded as "e-Learning" continuing the "e-Learning System" identity. Conversion to Sakai completed in Spring 2011, and the old system, Blackboard, was shut down.

Sakai

The Sakai Collaboration and Learning Environment is a free and open source Courseware Management System. It features a set of software tools designed to help instructors, researchers and students collaborate online in support of their work--whether it be course instruction, research or general project collaboration.

For coursework, Sakai provides features to create course sites to deliver distance education courses or to supplement and enhance face-to-face and hybrid teaching and learning. But the Sakai vision reaches beyond teaching and learning applications; and Sakai has tools to create collaboration sites as well as electronic portfolio sites help faculty, staff, and students organize communication and collaborative work on campus and around the world.

The LSS Team has been working diligently to generate live training sessions, online tutorials, podcast videos, and audio narrations for faculty, staff, and students. Support materials can be found at lss.at.ufl.edu/sakai-training/.
