Mentimeter
Mentimeter is a web-based audience engagement platform used to create interactive presentations, polls, quizzes, and surveys, collect audience responses in real time, and analyze engagement data and generate insights on participation and answer distributions.
This approved web version does not integrate into Canvas or provide grade pass back. There is no dedicated mobile app, but the web interface does work on mobile browsers.
This tool would be best used for large‑lecture engagement, such as asking quick knowledge checks or collecting audience opinions during a 200‑plus‑student class. Instructors could use this tool to run live polls that inform the pace of a lecture, create quick formative quizzes that give immediate feedback, or generate word‑cloud activities that surface common themes in student responses.
Mentimeter claims to meet industry standards regarding accessibility and WCAG 2.1 international standards.
Instructors must have a paid account with Mentimeter and log in via a web browser outside of Canvas.
